  1. Perhaps McFadden is a guy who can be decent, if the guys around him are also solid...but without a good supporting cast, might not be that good? I'm much more concerned with our secondary this season than I am anything else on defense. The Front 7 look decent on paper, but the secondary is a real question mark. The 2nd CB spot is up for grabs, and we gotta pray someone steps up and takes a leap, plus the 2nd safety position is likely to be the Rook, so there's going to be growing pains. McCloud and Flott flash at times, but they haven't been consistent. Additionally depth in general could be a concern. It's nice to add a guy like Mills for depth and a veteran presence at S, but he's nothing to get excited about; he's probably more of a nickel DB than anything at this stage. I also had to doublecheck the roster and is Aaron Robinson still actually on this roster? lol If he ever can stay on the field, is he a potential dark horse? Or is he just the next Sam Beal style washout?
  2. Ironically, this year with Okarkake, McFadden, and Simmons...probably the best group of LB's we've had in awhile (and I remember prior to 2023, I was trashing McFadden as being a backup at best, and I'm so glad he proved me wrong).
  3. Yep. That's why I like to look at the actual passing stats against the Corners, though even that needs to be caveated; for instance, it doesn't give us a read on how many times the ball wasn't thrown at the CB because the CB had good coverage, and the QB went elsewhere or was sacked. PFF I believe also looks overall, unless you're subscribed. Doesn't give pass coverage vs run coverage without subscription. At any rate, - Flott: 34 completions / 57 targets, 59.6% completion, for 440 yards and 3TDs with 1 INT. Passer rating of 94 - Banks: 53 completions / 96 targets, 55.2% completion, for 606 yards and 4TDs with 2 INT. Passer rating of 79 Banks in coverage just on passes thrown their way appears much better than Flott. A QB who has a passer rating of 94 is pretty darn good, while a rating of 79 is mediocre.
  4. Definitely needed depth. I'm surprised Adoree Jackson didn't land anywhere. Figure a team would give him a 1 year $2M or so deal or something like that. He's a solid #2 or #3 corner. Perhaps the constant injuries turned them off? Not sure about Herndon. In 2023, he was targeted 62 times, with 47 completions (75%) for 500 yards and 3TDs 0 INTS, for a passer rating of 115. 2022 was worse with a passer rating of 117 against him. Not sure how to square this with PFF's ratings on him.
  5. The funny thing too is the following year's 2020 draft consisted of five franchise QB's lol. Granted, I'm happy with Andrew Thomas, but still....
  6. He owes his entire career to like 4-5 games over 5 years (e.g. his first game against Tampa, playoff game against MN). If not for those 4-5 games, he'd never been in contention for a starting QB position. 4 straight years of DJ, and still hasn't cracked the 20TD mark during that span, and has hit a maximum of 15 TDs only in one season. The "If your first read isn't there, just take off and run for it" Daboll offense has been exposed and is a sham. DJ can't play outside this system too.
  7. The DJ apologists will be swearing till they day they die that if Daniel Jones just had an offensive line like the early 90's Cowboys and WR's like Jerry Rice and Tim Brown, that he could have been a good QB by year 11.
  8. We had speedy long ball weapons last year too. That's not saying much.
  9. I took the fam to this game yesterday. Ketel Marte also hit the game winning HR in the top of the 9th, to put the DBacks up 5-4, so this wasn't the only smack in the face of Met fans, lol
  10. It's unreal that we haven't had a 20TD QB since 2019, and that was Jones's best year, his rookie year. Pat Schurmer was actually a good play caller. Not a great head coach but good OC. He also did that without a whole lot of talent around him, and an injured Barkley for most of the year. Giant QB's that year passed for 30 TD's and over 4,000 yards; that was the last year this has happened for the Giants.
  11. Only 5 TD's, but I'll take those for a rookie year for Nabers.
  12. They care. About $$$$$
  13. So we'll start the season 2-0, then end up 2-5 or 3-4 by week 7, then likely two more wins before the bye. My vote is we're an 8 or 9 win team.
  14. I don't see any indications there was locker room problems. Eagles got rid of him because he wanted a hefty pay raise, he's in the last year of his contract anyway, and the Jet's offered a good deal. Him and Myles Garrett are the only two NFL players to post double digit sacks each of the last 4 years.
  15. Hassan Reddick in a contract year, on the Jets defense, would be my top choice, IMO. Who on here was the one saying we should bring in Reddick? Was it Seph? Dude's been a monster the last 4 years. Stupid AZ was trying to play him as a traditional LB for too long, then finally got him with his hand in the dirt as a true EDGE, and he's thrived.
  16. I think what helps getting these done quick is aren't these rookie contract levels/years per-determined by the labor agreement they reached with the Union several years ago?
  17. I can't wait to see what Herman Moore 2.0 can do for us.
  18. If he gets off to a hot start, 100% look to trade him (I think the NFL trade deadline is like week 6).
  19. That was a very odd one. Shurmer should have been given more time. In 2019, his 2nd year, they just drafted a QB, signaling they want to move on from Eli. You'd think with a rookie QB that they think is their future, they wouldn't hold a bad season against Shurmer given he's in his rookie freaking year, not to mention your OL is still abysmal, not to mention the defense is ranked near dead last.
